Here is a quick and easy way to get a look at some of the possibilities: MatShop’s MAToMATic lets you upload your own images (or choose to work with MatShop’s sample pictures) and set options such as outer mat color, inner mat color, frame choice, and wall color. This interactive online tool is by no means representative of the only options available in the world of matting and framing, but it is interesting to see how different colors impact the art and either compliment or compete with it.
